Nikhil Kolluri

Nik is almost 9 years old and is in 3rd grade at Sunrise Elementary school. He loves to eat beef fajitas and drink orange cream soda. Nik has one brother named Akaash who is 4 years old.

Nik joined the Base Camp Climbing Team at the beginning of December. He prefers bouldering over sport climbing and is really looking forward to climbing in Big Cottonwood Canyon this summer.

Besides rock climbing, Nik likes to hang with his friends, particularly Dylan. Of all the holidays, Nik like to celebrate his own birthday the best. When he needs some down time, Nik likes to watch "Man versus Food" or listen to music by "Queen". The person he most looks up to is his dad.

The pets in Nik's household are a bearded dragon named "Nibbles" and a dog named "Bizkit".

Someday, Nik would like to go on vacation to Mexico. If he had a million dollars, Nik would invest some of it so it could make him more money and he would use the rest to buy a really fancy house. Since he wants to be an architect when he grows up, maybe Nik could design his really fancy house. Then he could have a really fancy bouldering wall built in it.

Sam is 12 years old and is in 7th grade at Mountain Ridge Middle School. He loves to eat filet mignon and his favorite color is green. Sam has two brothers, Seth and Dax, and two sisters, Lauren and Zoe. He says that Dax is "the awesomest".

Sam joined Team Momentum about seven months ago. He started rock climbing because he thought it would be fun and his favorite part of climbing is taking lead falls.

Sam prefers sport climbing to bouldering and would someday like to climb in Anasazi, Mexico.

Besides rock climbing Sam loves to play guitar, ride dirt bikes, wake board, shoot airsoft guns, snowboard, watch monster trucks, and, um, blow up cars. (I'm not sure if he has actually done this last thing but I'm just writing what he told me.)

Oddly, Sam told me that, not only is Cole his best friend, but he is also Sam's pet. (Again, I just write this stuff.)

There are two people that Sam most looks up to. The first is his father and the second is Kirk Hammet, lead guitar player for Metallica.

Someday, Sam would like to be a Marine or a professional musician. No matter which one he eventually chooses, he wants to continue to rock climb.

Ellise

Ellise is 9 years old and in the 4th grade at Grace Lutheran School. She loves to eat cheeseburgers and her favorite color is green. Ellise has one sister, Katie, who is also on the climbing team.

Ellise joined Team Momentum just over a year ago when it first began. She started rock climbing because she thought it was going to be fun and she found out that she was right. Ellise's favorite thing about climbing is going for a move and to her, the best part of being on the climbing team is that she has such great coaches that teach and challenger her.

Ellise loves to boulder and sport climb (she has recently learned to lead climb) and she competes in many competitions. Someday, she would love to climb The Grand Teton.

Besides rock climbing, Ellise loves to ski, hike, bicycle, and drink tons of water to keep her hydrated during all of her physical activity. She also does yoga with her sister and father.

Someday Ellise hopes to become a veterinarian.
